Duplicate Tracks
While working on a student project out of no where I suddenly had 4 duplicate video tracks. 7, 8, 9 and 10. This did not affect the audio tracks. Each time you add a new track it will create a new track. eg. If you create a new track for V7 it will create V7 twice. And if you continue to add new tracks subsequent tracks are also doubled. Each time you delete a duplicate track it will delete the original track. I merged the 4 tracks into an existing track (track 6). I deleted the duplicate tracks. As long as I do not create a new track MC worked with no issues. What could be the cause or the problem?
A. The sequence
B. The Bin
C. The project
D. The clips
Before I could send an email to my professor to let them know about this issue I looked online to see if anyone else had the same issue. I found someone in 2015 on this forum who had the same issue. Her solution was finally to create a new project, then create a new sequence. She said in a different view she could still see the duplicate track. She was using an older version of MC. I still see the duplicate after creating a new Project, A new Sequence and I even created new Bins. Nothing that I do will prevent a duplicate track. No other bin or sequence has this issue. I opened up 2 other projects and did not have this issue. The only thing that I could conclude is that one of the “clips” or “edits” within the sequence is cause the tracks to duplicate.
A way to find out which clip is causing the issue is to deconstruct the project by deleting each clip one by one and testing to see which one is causing the duplication. I dont have that type of time because this is finals week.
Again, other than NEW tracks being duplicated there is NO other issues that I can see. This is very annoying not knowing what caused this and what the solution is.
I have tried everything from copying the bins into a new project, creating new bins, new sequences etc. Each time I try to create a new track it will make an additional mirrored or duplicate track.
