Sun cycle effect
Yo, i’m a complete nube to after effects, i’m trying to make an animation of a sun, rising and setting over a forest. The sun itself won’t be in the animation, just the lighting/darkening of the scene, causing the trees to cast shadows. I think I can just change the colour of the sky/trees/ground to get the darkening effect, but the casting of the shadows from the trees is the tricky part for me, I’ve looked for videos on this but surprisingly haven’t found any, can anyone give me any pointers/expressions on how I could do this? I’ve attached a rough drawing of the forest just to show the scene i’m thinking of

I would make it with 3D layers and animate a light source, so the trees can cast real shadows on eachother
