Wave Lines
Posted by Chris Mathews on February 16, 2016 at 7:42 pmDoes anybody know how to create the look at the end of the video with the wavy lines? Im pretty sure it’s AE used to create the original ones.

February 17, 2016 at 1:15 pmAre you trying to duplicate the example exactly or just get something that resembles it?
It’s different depending on whether you use 3D Stroke or Form. I’d go at it with 3D Stroke.
3D Stroke has a repeater, so you draw one of those shapes, and repeat it with the repeater (which has options for offset, rotation, etc). Then animate the camera around it.
Form has an option called strings. Getting it to look like that can be tricky, but it should nevertheless be possible.

February 18, 2016 at 1:40 pmI have tried like you suggested, I created a curve and used 3D Stroke to repeat it, but there is a little problem, the curve from the original example is real 3D it has a mild helix form.I ttried to create a shape but no success, then I remembered that I can use null to create 3D path, and a managed to create the exact same curve, but the question is how to convert the path into shape layer to add Stroke to.

February 19, 2016 at 8:40 am3D Stroke has a Bend option that will bend the stroke in actual 3D, use that.
