Hi! I decided to share with you my efforts to build a PC, that is mainly used for AAE and PS, medium for Ai, but it will also be used for C4D and Blender!

    1. The most important condition is absolutely smooth operation in AAE (composing a lot of layers from PS to 4K compositions, working with plugins – Trapcode, Stardust, 3D element)

    2. Rendering ( I would like to improve it through rendergarden etc.)

    3. Work with large formats in PS and Ai

I deal most with live preview in AAE, so I would like to find the most stable option for 128GB RAM.

Sometimes I have more of these programs open at the same time. I want to build it by the end of this year and next year I would like to upgrade to Ryzen 5950x and RTX 3090. I would like to keep the budget around 3000usd.

Can you please tell me your expert opinion and which option is the best choice? I will be happy for any advice or tip that I could exchange or improve.

Here is my current suggestion :

    CPU: AMD RYZEN 9 3900X

MB: ASUS ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING or ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE

    RAM: VENGEANCE® RGB PRO 128GB (4 x 32GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Memory Kit or G.Skill Ripjaws V Black 128GB(4x32GB) 3200MHz

GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER WINDFORCE OC 3X 8G

    Cooler: NOCTUA NH-U12S

    OC/APPS: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 500GB

    Files/Caches: Samsung 980 PRO 1TB

    Stoorage: WD Gold 8TB

    source: Corsair TX850M

case: Fractal Design Define R6 Black Tempered Glass

Highly recommend reading through all of the resources on the Puget Systems website. They do real-world testing of different CPUs, GPUs, RAM, etc. with AE and find out what actually works the best with AE.

That way, it’s not theory; it’s real.

Yes i follow their articles, so i am inspired by them a lot in this built, but they dont tests 128GB RAM 🙂

I’ve run 128GB systems before. The difference between similarly specced quality RAM brands are negligible. You’ll notice a speed difference on memory-intensive tasks, but it may not be that much of a difference over 64GB RAM for many tasks. I’d also not underestimate storage. If you are working with 4K footage, 8TB is nothing… especially if you configure for backup/redundancy.

Check this nice little corner of the internet: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/

    My recent build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Cx/saved/gWRk99

That’s all I got for now ’cause last time I posted a bunch of links the COW suspended my account for spamming (even though all the links were directly relevant) and no one from COW responded to my emails… Best of luck.

P.S.: Wouldn’t recommend my case (Corsair 680x) but definitely would recommend others from them. Also note that the total cost includes many components already owned; totaled it all for insurance purposes.

    Hey Chris,

Whoa, now. I apologize for your troubles posting, but to clarify, our spam system mistakenly stopped your post, because yes, it sensed a link to text ratio that looked suspicious. I replied to you within minutes.

And the fact that you are posting here shows that your account was NOT suspended. If it had been, you wouldn’t even have been able to log in. Suspended means just that. No access to anything.

So I certainly apologize for any emails not going through, but there was nothing resembling suspending your account, which remains in good standing.

If you have anything else to add, by all means do, but in general, we’re looking less for piles of links than your actual insights. Why did you choose what you chose? How did the build go? What has been the effect on your work vs. what you’d been using previously? THAT, we want to hear about!

In the meantime, the Letters To The COW Team forum is always open, and you can write me directly about anything else I can help you with, tim@ this here domain.
