  • Multicam Clips playing out of left speaker only – Help!

Hi All — Running into what seems like a known issue but no solutions online work exactly correctly..

    Version: 14.4 (and also 13.3)

    I have the following:

    3 Cameras

    – 2 cams w mono audio

    – 1 cam w stereo audio

    – 5 tracks mono ISO’s (separate 788 type recorder)

When I sync everything in the timeline everything plays fine through both channels/ speakers, even when soloing mono tracks.

Once I create multicam source sequence (choosing audio preset mono) everything only plays through the left speaker.

Audio preset stereo will bundle tracks together, making isolating 1 specific mic impossible.

I’ve gone through the suggested solutions I could find:

    – on the mixer not tracks are panned left

    – fill right is not an option on the mono tracks

    – copy/ paste into another sequence doesn’t work

    Any thoughts?

I think I’ve dealt with this before. When I did, it was because the main sequence (where the Multicam Source Sequence gets placed to edit it) inherits the properties of the clip when it’s created using that clip. So you’ve created a Mono main sequence from your Mono multicam sequence, which means that it defaults to playing the audio from the left speaker, and always will.

To fix this, create a new main sequence as a Stereo sequence. Then you’ll need to drag the multicam sequence in, and in the Audio Clip Mixer, pan the audio of the multicam clip to the center. Do this BEFORE you do any multicam editing.
