  • Repeating motion path with delay

I’m new to after effects and i’m trying to figure out a way to repeat a motion path across multiple layers with a delay. i’m trying to get moons to revolve around a planet, so i made an ellipses mask, copied the path to the position of the moons, but it messes up the initial position of the layer and wasnt rotated like the mask. I moved the layer back in position and used a null object to rotate the path and then i have change the z axis so it going behind the planet. Now i’m trying to get the other moons to follow the same path, but when i try to copy the position keyframes it just puts it in a wildly different area of the comp. Basically how do i get multiple layers to follow the same motion path in the same exact position, then be able to delay them. Sorry if i’m not being clear explaining the situation, if i didnt include something important feel free to ask.
