I really like the convenience and speed of using the Animated Text presets in AE, but also want change them to suit my needs. For instance I used the 3D Fly Down Behind Camera preset which builds the text in from left to right. I want to then have the text fly back out in a similar fashion but in the opposite direction starting with the end of the text back to the beginning.

I can copy and shift the keyframes to repeat the animation later in the comp to fly out, but can’t figure out how to have it start right to left….

Any ideas? Thanks for any insight or things to try.

Select your text layer and double-tap the “u” key. This should open your text animation properties. To reverse directions, you can duplicate “Animation 1” and change the mode in the “Advanced” twirl down from “add” to subtract”. I think that should do it.

    That worked perfectly, thanks Daniel
