Use external text from csv file
Hello there. I have a problem setting up my new project. I created a simple file in Excel which contains some data. One cell in Excel has a drop-down list, to choose some text from multiple options. When I enter all the data I export to CSV. Here is the thing, I have a several different layers, which are quick time animations, with the exact name as the text in drop-down list in Excel. All those quick time animation layers are in the same comp. I want to create an expression which turns on layer with the name matching with the corresponding text chosen in the Excel file. I tried via some opacity expressions but no luck. In essence, if I chose text “shoes” in Excel drop-down list, I want layer with name “shoes” to be only visible in After effects. I don’t know if I described this right. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe the problem is that the dropdownlist will only give you the number of it’s selection, not the actual string of that item.
