  activation of mpeg-4-codec (mainconcept)

  Just installed vegas pro 18 – and can’t load any .mts videos (which is what I use…).

  I get a “Hint” that tells me “The activation of MPEG-4-Codec (MainConcept) failed. If you are using the program as a guest, please repeat the activation procedure with administrator rights.”

  I am administrator; as far as I know I am not a “guest”; I have removed and reinstalled 18; my internet is good; all to no avail. I’ve got to be missing something REALLY simple – which I am not finding.

  Got the answer: ADMINISTRATOR as in running the program as an administrator. NEVER would have given that consideration.
