Effects examples
Posted by Jeff Davis on August 27, 2020 at 3:51 amAs a newb to AE the number of effects that come bundled is overwhelming. The only way I even know what’s there is by seeing specific effects used in examples of more complicated effects that I come across online. Has anyone ever created a comprehensive list of them or, better yet, a list with examples? Thanks for any pointers.

August 27, 2020 at 9:36 amThere used to be this thing called a manual…
Unfortunately Adobe turned it into a website that’s really not that intuitive to read, use or browse, so I can’t yell “RTFM” at newbs anymore ?You’ll find the full list of Adobe’s effects there, every effect has it’s own page where most paramaters are explained, and a still shows the effect:

a list of the bundled CC effects is here:

August 27, 2020 at 4:50 pmThanks, Filip. That’s a big help, especially the CC list. Btw, what’s the difference between CC effects and non-CC effects?

August 27, 2020 at 5:15 pmAll the “CC” effects were developed by the third-party developer CycoreFX. They were bundled into the “Pro” versions of Ae way back when (which cost more than the standard edition), and moved into the main release back in the early 2000s.
