How do i use an adjustment layer for both eyes?
Hey everyone,
So I’ve been trying to edit my eye colour using video copilots colour vibrance plugin which says to add the effect to an adjustment layer.
Whenever i do this it will only add the colour vibrance effect to one eye. I’m guessing there’s something really silly or obvious that I’m doing wrong.
In the adjustment layer I’ve linked it to the right eye null but can’t parent it to the other one so even though I’ve masked both eyes inside the adjustment layer it still doesn’t work.
Please help! ?

That is a tough question. I am not sure exactly how that effect works on stacked masks. Have you tried copying those masks to a solid layer and taking them off your adjustment layer and then setting the adjustment layer to alpha matte the new solid layer? if the problem persists when you do that then there is some funny business going on that isn’t in the screenshot.

don’t forget to remove the parenting from the adjustment layer and add it to the solid layer when you try it

If it really came down to it, you could always just duplicate the adjustment layer, and use one instance for each eye. It looks like your tracking is already done, so it wouldn’t create any more work.
I’m not sure why the masks are interacting that way with the VC Color Vibrance effect, but why fight it if you can solve it with a simple workaround?

yeah I tried that but it still only works on one eye at a time when I put them both into my main composition ?

I don’t have the plugin, but it sounds like it lets you select a mask from within the plugin ?
If so: Don’t select any mask
Instead of that, add the masks in the compositing options of the effect in the timeline.
That’s a relatively new feature that wasn’t available when the effect came out.This way also honours feathers, mask expansions, mask modes etc.

On Adjustment Layer 1, delete the masks for the left eye, and on Adjustment Layer 2, delete the masks for the right eye. That way each Adjustment Layer is only looking at one mask.

Is your adjustment layer the full size of the composition? If it is, can you just upload your project file without asset here so we can take a quick look at it?
