  High Def to NTSC and PAR

  We recently moved into a facility that is native HD video. Our audience is still NTSC. So even though we are creating work in HD, (3D animations, stills and video) we send the work through a converter that dumbs the video down to NTSC by cropping off the sides. The final video looks as if it is slightly stretched. I am assuming because of the Pixel Aspect Ratio in After Effects. Is there any way to compensate for this?

  Does it look stretched on your computer display, or on the TV Video output?

  The TV has a different PAR than a computer display (which has square pixels).

  If it looks right on the NTSC monitor, you should be fine.

  What converter? Hardware or software?

  We are using a hardware solution for our conversion. On the computer the image looks fine but on the video monitor the image looks stretched.

  Hey Nick. can you please explain to me the steps that are involoved to get you from HD to NTSC. It isn’t making sense to me.
