    Hi,

I’m creating an animation in which there is a map flat on the ground in 3D space and on the map there is a line to follow.

I’m having trouble setting up the camera to go along that path in a fluid motion. I find that the keyframes I’m adding to create the motion path is making an inconsistent animation in terms of speed.

For example there is a turn in the path and when I keyframe the camera around the bend it moves faster and is quite jerky.

Is there a way to align the camera to follow a path a bit like the align to spline tag in Cinema 4D?

I’ve uploaded an example of what I mean.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Well, if you select your Null object and see the motion on the top view you’ll be able to fine fix your motion keyframes. Right now they are positioned in a funny way. Try to place them in the same place them as if you were drawing in Illustrator. Let the handlers follow the same direction of the straight line and adjust the curvature using the lenght of the handlers, not their angle. I home I’m explaining me.

For the timing problem, select your first and last keyframes in the timeline, then right click and select “rove across time”.

    I hope this helps

    Thanks for the reply!

    I’ll try that out.

Is the way I’m setting the camera rig up the best for this kind of animation?

Is there a better way of doing things?

There are many ways to skin a cat, but I’ll do it the same way as you.

Just use robe across time frames and be carefull with those curves.
