  ERROR: opening sound component (-2166) ?

  Hi, I am getting the following error in my lateset AE project
  ——————–
  error: opening sound component (-2166).
  (10:44)——————–

  I get this sometimes when I Ram preview but sometimes its ok?, but If I try to render I always get this error and it wont render unless I turn off all my audio layers, … any ideas ?, Ive never had a problem with sound before. they are just wav files

  Its OK, After reading through other posts with the same problem I shockingly found out it was because I had the latest version of Quicktime Pro and it was the culprit which made AE 6 Pro error.

  Ive upgraded to 6.5 and this has sorted the problem. If you cant upgrade you need to go back to quicktime 7.01
