Expressions: Change a value of another layer
Hello,
this might be a really stupid question for you, but i`m just getting started with expressions and after 2 hours of pointless searching for a solution i don`t really know what to do.I want to manipulate the opacity of several layers from one single null-layer, now to start i tried manipulating the value of a single layer (“layer 1”,a plain red layer).
After trying several different functions and methods with:
thisComp.layer("layer 1").transform.opacity
i was stuck and now i need your help. How can i change the Opacity of “layer 1” with a expression from “null 1”Best Regards

Hi,
thanks for your answer. What you wrote makes sense if i only want to control one layer with another layer, but i want to control 10 layer opacitys from one layer. Is this possible in any way ?Best Regards

You can copy and paste the created expression to as many other layers as you want.
