  Betacam SX Capture question

  I have a Betacam SX (DNW-A25)with SDI out. I send the signal to a Laird LTM DV Beta SDI to firewire converter.

  In fcp I am using firewire PAL 48 khz as capture. Once in the system I notice there is what seems to be noise or some sort of artifact tha was not on the tape.

  Once the video is sent out back to tape the noise remains.

  Can some one tell me is this is the right setting for capture? and what should I be doing wrong?

  Do you have an AJA io or ioHD?

  Thanks for your response. No I dont I have a Laird BetaDV converter.
