    here’s my setup:

    AJA ioHD
    SONY HVR-1500 HDV/DVCAM/DV
    SONY EVO-9850 Hi8 w/TBC
    SONY SVO-5800 S-VHS w/TBC
    Panasonic BT-LH1760 monitor

all I do is capture from the above decks, my masters are just 720p60 (59.94) QT ProRes files, I don’t need to go back out to any deck.

would I benefit in any way by adding the GEN10 to my system? I searched around quite a bit and it looks like the ioHD switches to video in for genlock when capturing, so it seems like I’m fine as is. but does it do this for SDI only or analog inputs as well? I’m planning to uprez my library of VHS/Hi8/DV to 720p60 to get the footage out of the interlaced world and on disk before the information flakes away.

[Dan Wolfe] “but does it do this for SDI only or analog inputs as well?”

It references all incoming video despite the connection, everything from analog to digital connections, composite to HDMI.

Interesting plan. I’d keep it all SD myself, but that’s just me. You can always deinterlace later.
