No Component out in 10.5.4
Posted by David Perry on July 26, 2008 at 3:21 pmHi,
I updated (foolish me) the Apple system to 10.5.4 and now I cannot get component out to work on my AJA 1O/HD
Anyone else having this issue? HDMI works fine, haven’t tried SDI.

July 26, 2008 at 5:12 pmYes, it was updated before and after 5.1.2
Now I have those looping problems again also. Were they not fixed? Oh, my bad – I had the system prefs on Aggregate driver. When I took it off Aggregate the audio was fine. But still no component out

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers? Again?

July 26, 2008 at 6:51 pmDO NOT USE FCP during your tests. Only use the AJA Control Panel.
Go to Contro>Test Patterns, and bring up color bars. Do you see anything out of the I/O HD into your monitor ? (you better not be looping thru a VTR for these tests).I urge you to do the following for sanity reasons. With color bars up in the control panel, take ONE BNC, and take the COMPOSITE VIDEO OUT and go into the composite video in of your TV monitor. Then, take that same cable, and move it to the OUT Y jack on your I/O HD.
You should see bars in B+W. If you do, you have your component out working. If you don’t follow Jeremys advice – uninstall and reinstall your I/O HD drivers, and ONLY TEST WITH COLOR BARS from the I/O HD Control Panel – NOT FROM FCP !!!!!!!If this still fails, your I/O HD may be dead.
Bob Zelin (I don’t trust anyones cables).

July 26, 2008 at 8:58 pmThe Looping is the audio problem. When I play back it plays a few seconds of audio and then keeps repeating it over and over stuck in a short loop.
I am not getting any component video through the bars in the control panel. I will un-install it again.
THanks for everyones help.

July 26, 2008 at 10:49 pmLooks like it has to go back to AJA again. This is the 4th IOHD that they have sent me. One had FW problems, one No component out, one no Red channel component in.
The composite does not work, no component, HDMI is OK. Maybe it is time to give up on this box and get a Kona 3. I was hoping it would be a software issue but if yours works in 10.5.4 then it must be my unit.
Thanks for all your help

That issue is not your IoHD.
it is a feed back error in FCP.
