  flagging of betacam input on aja io

  I have a betcam tape sp that i am attempting to digitize;
  on the problem with flagging (where the top of the sceen shifts
  to the left and right randomly); when i input the signal through the
  aja io or through the log and capture window of FCP 4.5 HD.

  When I route the output of the betacam tape directly through to the
  monitor; there is no flagging problem ; but only when i connect the
  betacam SP tape through the aja io.

  Is anyone aware of this problem; and how to cure it!

  Sounds like a reference problem.

  REPLY – is the the NUMBER ONE thing discussed on these forums, or WHAT ! I bet anything this gentleman does NOT have these locked with a black gen, and there will be a slew of members who will write back “I don’t have a black gen – why do you need a black generator”.

  AJA should raise the price of all their products by $390, and start including a GEN10 with every sale of every product.
