  AJA Io LD, FCP 5, MacBook

  I’m running FCP 5 on a Macbook. I’ve installed the Universal upgrade from AJA. However, FCP crashes when I try and launch Log & Capture, whatever Device Control / Capture presets I use. Same result when I try with FCP 4. Macbook seems to have innumerable problems with FCP. My very old G4 Powerbook with slow processor and broken screen has no diffs recognising the Io LD, and I can happily control my Digibeta deck from there, but I don’t want to have to capture through an ageing G4 with a broken screen! That’s why I bought a new machine. Is there any hope?

  Is this a MacBook and not a MacBook Pro?

  FCP is officially not supported on Macbooks. I have never tried it, but since it supposedly doesn’t work on Macbooks, I am not sure if the io will work with it.

  Sorry for the bad news. Perhaps call AJA and see what they say.
