Ok so I captured a long(over an hour) clip from DigiBeta using the Aja IO. via SDI with embedded audio. Used the 10 bit SDI A/V preset in FCP 6 all default settings. When I playback the captured clip the auio is very off like over a second I had bars and tone on the tape and I lined up the start of the sound and vdieo of that in an attempt to sync the clip. The starts of it syncs fine but by the end the auio had drifited agin to be over a second off.

I’ve tried playback both through the computer speakers, through SDi to the Digibeta and via component and analog audio to a Beta deck. the audio is definaely out of sync on all of them.

I don’t see how my audio could drift so badly on an embedded SDI connection and haven’t seen it before. Any ideas?

Do you have reference connected and what was your reference set to in the Control Panel?

What version of the drivers, os, qt, FCP, and all that good stuff?

What has changed since the last time you did this?

Log and capture works better than a really long capture now, even if you bust it up into 12, 5 minute clips.

What kind of drives do you have and if you have FW800 drives, are they on a separate bus then the io?

    How are you feeling today?

    What’s your general disposition?

    How ’bout them Cubs?

no external drives going to an internal SATA drive

no reference hooked up IO control panel set to use SDI Input as reference

    Mets stink, go Yanks.

How fast is your internal SATA disk running (use the AJA Kona system test) and what resolution are you capturing to? I hope it’s not 10bit Uncompressed.
