  Sketchy edge effect?

  Hey guys! I have a quick question on how to achieve a (I hope to be) simple effect. I want to replicate the sketchy edge effect as seen in this save the children commercial:

  I was thinking of maybe running a noise filter through an edge detect of my graphics, and using that as a matte. Are there any methods or better yet, any plug-ins which could help me achieve it? I mostly do Maya work, but I have to complete this for a class. Thanks!!!!

  the roughen edges effect in the stylize section of plug ins will do what you want and give you a lot of options.
  It comes with after effects.
