Laying off 4 tracks of audio
I was trying to use the Io to lay off 4 tracks of audio to separate channels on a digtal beta deck DVW-A500
I’ve got the Io configured out to Ch1/2 and 3/4 AES/EBU.I’ve tried different scenerios, changing the audio in FCP’s Sequence settings to 4 channels and by creating a 4 channel template in user preferences. However, when I try to Edit To Tape, it only gives me the option for A1 and A2 (yellow dots in Edit to tape panel).
Even when I try a separate pass by cross patching Io’s output A1-A2 to DVW-A500’s A3-A4, the deck overwrites A1-A2 with silence.
I’ve got FCP 5, Quicktime 7 and the latest Io drivers.
Anybody have a workflow using the Io and this deck that they could share for multi channel output? Any help would be awesome, I’ve run out of ideas!

You may need to copy/paste into a new sequence with the newly created output specs. I think it’s an FCP thing, not ana AJA thing.
If you control + click on your timeline tracks (where the track activator is) and the popup menu appears, you can check to be sure that your tracks are patched to the correct channels. As a default, they all go to stereo 1/2.
I always edit to tape from the viewer, not the canvas, and close out any other sequences in the canvas/timeline. An old habit from FCP 4.0 to workaround output bugs. Try it out if you feel adventurous.
