  Kona RT Extreme Harware Acceleration

  Can anyone give me a reality check on the hardware acceleration I’m likely to experience by adding a Kona card to my MacPro System? Is the functional benefit worth the investment or is there another solution to speed up rendering?

  There is none. All that the Kona, and other capture cards do to boost RT, is take the anamorphic scaling of footage (that is anamorphic) off of the computer and onto itself. It, all the other capture card makers, do not speed up rendering, or add more RT to FCP or Avid or Premiere via hardware
