  uncompressed 10 bit playback (iMac)

  I’m trying to view an uncompressed 10 bit video on my iMac. I’ve tried using QuickTime Pro, MPEG Streamclip & VLC to no avail. I’ve also tried downloading the SheerVideo component recommended by Apple. Still, all I see is a black screen while the playhead moves. Is there a good way to view this file w/o using Final Cut? Is it possible that I need to upgrade my video card? I believe my video card is NVIDIA GeForce 9400

  Why is this posted in a Kona forum? How do you plan on upgrading your graphic card?

  You need really fast HD to play back Uncompressed HD video, my guess your HDs are not up to speed.

  Uncompressed 10-bit cannot playback on an iMac, unless you are on a Gigebit Ethernet network (something like Walter Biscardi has). As Michael says, it’s the drive speed. Just concurring with him.

  But yeah, what does this have to do with Kona cards? That don’t work in iMacs.
