hi i am having problems viewing pal sd out on a sony from apple color…. the image looks like it is being resized by something…
and as the aja control panel resets to ntsc even though i set it to pal just wondered if these bugs are connected?

    thanks

    hi
i honestly think it is a color issue
kona does it usual great job in ae and combustion
basically i have a qt with none as the codec 30 sec seq from flame in pal 720 x 576 and color seems to mangle it … it looks wrong on the image window on the color screen and just looks worse bigger on the sony

    thanks

Maybe it’s the codec. As a test try trancoding the file to ProRes or Uncomprsssed 8 bit using compressor. Then send that to Color and see want happens.

    hi
yeah i tried a few codecs but i think it is some sort of color bug … codecs just changed gamma but not the jaggies.. when its rendered it looks fine but try explaining that to your clients

Do you have “deinterlace previews” on in the user preferences? If so, turn it off, if not turn it on.

[simon brewster] “when its rendered it looks fine but try explaining that to your clients”

“It’s going to look good. I promise!”

SO you’re saying once it’s graded and rendered out of Color, everything looks good?

so i found the problem and its not a bug … which is good
in color in the setup room change the internal pixel format to anything but floating point and the jaggies go away .. so its a graphics card based issue … but remember when its time to render put it back to floating point
