Kona 3 vs Kona LHI
I am in the market for an upgrade, and I’ve narrowed it down to the Kona 3 and it’s little brother the Kona LHI. I know the Kona 3 provides some key advantages over the LHI such as Single link 4:22, Dual link 4:44 and 2k. They both up, down, and cross convert in 10 bit, so are there any other advantages to spending the extra money on the Kona 3.

Other than Red workflow that really comes under the 2k banner, the Kona 3 has 16 channels of embedded audio vs the Lhi’s 8 channels.

The Kona 3 also has 2 SDI connections, the LHi only one (though the LHi does have HDMI, 3G and analog, so a different spec set):
