  newbie question

  Hi-
  Working on an XDCAM sequence after installing a new LHi card.I hate to admit it, but it’s my first one…But better late than never…

  I have a project shot on XDCAM 1080i60 35mps VBR. I have SDI out of the card going into a new Flanders monitor and when I try and play an easy setup 1080i60 10 bit VBR sequence, it looks fine when in pause, but on play it turns into some noisy static although the audio is fine. This can be fixed by turning on the VANC checkbox in the format tab. But according to the 6.5 release notes, this has to do with closed captioning.When I change the video out in FCP to 1080i60 8 bit it plays fine. Should I be using the 8 bit setting?.

  Yes, XDCam is 8bit.
