Kona 6.0.3 update and Adobe Plugin
Posted by Timo Teravainen on July 31, 2009 at 8:58 amHi,
After updating the AJA Kona 3 to 6.0.3., I dont seem to get the Aja Adobe 6.0.3 plugin to work with After Effects CS4. Preview in AE worked fine before the update 🙁
When launching AE, there’s an error message “AEGP Plugin AEGP Internal: Failed to Register Xena Preview”. Does anyone know what’s going on?
Regards,

August 1, 2009 at 9:08 pmI’m having this issue pop up as well. I wonder – do most people use this plugin or do they configure directly in the application?

August 12, 2009 at 9:11 pmEverything seems to work correctly (at least on our end) – it’s just some annoying ‘why does this happen’ thing, I guess. Are you not getting previews on your external monitor?

August 13, 2009 at 4:22 amI was wrong. You need to uninstall it. Really large qt’s (larger than HD) were displaying at stupid-low resolution. I trashed prefs, checked interpretation, etc, with no luck. The large files would open and play great in finder, but looked nightmarish in a comp in AE.
I uninstalled the AJA Adobe plugins, and everything looks gorgeous again in comps. Whew.

September 4, 2009 at 6:19 pmAny update to this issue? My ram previews are playing back @ 8fps and I can not get playback on my broadcast monitor. I uninstalled the adobe update and the ram previews are playing at 29.97 again but still no playback on monitor. I am also getting the error “AEGP Plugin AEGP Internal: Failed to Register Xena Preview” when opening after effects. Please help!

September 7, 2009 at 10:19 amNow the Adobe plugins started working with AE, version 6.5. I’ll just hold back on updating the AJA Kona driver to v.7, propably the Adobe plugin will again stop functioning.
