First I want to start by giving a big thanx to everybody on this forum cause it really makes my life a big differences!

Yesterday I had a studio shoot and im using an hvx200. I have have an sony “mfm-ht75w” (not proffessional monitor) for frameing focus etc. And yes I working on saving for a nice ref monitor on set. Everyting looks nice on that but in editing om my 42″ panasonic pro plasma it looks very blury and abit overexposed on some parts. The panasonic is in monitor mode and if i switch to cinema mode it gets slightly “sharper” but still very soft. I have set everything to 720 50p 8bit in final cut and of course unlimited realtime full quality.

    Any thoughts?

Check your power saving. Sometimes if highlights approach 100, the Pansonic monitors will clip in order to extend the life of the display.

Hi Jeremy its pretty sharp if i play blueray movies on it. But my hvx footage always looks soft. I’ll check the power savings. I mean from 17″ to 42″ it should get abit softer but not this much.
