  HD monitoring

  Hi everybody,
  I’m thinking about upgrading my gears buying a RED. I’d like to know how can I monitor IN REAL TIME my Final Cut timeline (prores 422 HQ) on a broadcast SD monitor (JVC 15″) with S-video input.

  AJA control panel
  FORMAT – set secondary to 525
  Analog out tab – set to secondary (525)
  Analog out tab – change selection from component to Composite Y/C

  that’s it. Real time downconversion .

  Any of them will do HD to SD downconvert. The basic differences are these:

  Kona LHe: Analog and Digital I/O, HD to SD downconvert

  Kona 3: Digital Inputs only. Digital and Analog outputs. HD to SD downconvert. SD to HD Upconvert. 720 to 1080 / 1080 to 720 Cross Convert.
