Kona Output Look not matching Monitor Look-Prores422
Okay, this is a bit of an odd one, so I thought I’d throw it up here for any wisdom that is beyond me…
We recently purchased a RED camera and are working our way through a realistic and high quality workflow. Currently, we are shooting using REDSpace, then putting all of our 4k files into REDRushes where we convert files to HD, ProRezHigh.
So, at this point, it shouldn’t matter what we shot with. But the strange issue I have is that the files look VERY different on our Panasonic external monitor than our computer…much more-so than our usual HD files when editing. The saturation levels are very decreased and a little washed out on the external monitor versus the computer. (This is with the external set up properly with color bars.)
So…is there something with the Kona playing out ProRes files that would change this? It almost seems like a colorspace issue or something. I guess it’s possible that REDRushes has a bug still and is not converting the color space correctly…
Any thoughts or guesses? Thanks!
Kevin
