While attempting to digitize something into FCP, I was sending a composite analog signal into the Kona LH. The Kona control panel showed that there was a signal but then went on and off from showing there was to “No video”. Now, it just shows a constant “No video” readout.

Just for fun, I changed the input format to component and it showed that there was, in fact, a signal, but when I changed it back to component, the dreaded “No video” showed up again.

I’ve tested this with both PAL and NTSC video from different decks, and the same problem occurs. I’ve shut down, restarted, thrown pencils against the wall, everything.

Has this ever happened to anyone? If so, is it reparable or is the card a dud?

close out of FCP, and ONLY run the Kona control panel. Send composite video into the Y input, and monitor the output on your TV monitor. Play your composite source – what do you see – do you see video ?

DO NOT do this test running FCP, ONLY the control panel.

Aha, it’s FCP. Card’s fine. Clearly some wacky wackiness was going on and all is well now.

    Thanks, Bob!
