    Hi-

Wondering if there are any known audio issues with outputting HD 1080i to the AJ-1400. I know the FW output has its issues but I’m coming out SDI from my Kona LHe into the HD SDI on the deck. Video is all good but the audio is “crunchy” for lack of a better term. Material was brought in via FW but I’m outputting from the card (I didn’t have the card when I digitized) and wondering if that’s giving me this nonsense…

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

No issues at all here using HD-SDI to layback.

    Hi Paul,

I’ve had something similar to what you’re describing happen with a Kona2. I tracked it down to a setting in the Kona control panel. One of the Kona SDI inputs fed from a deck was selected as the input source but the deck wasn’t turned on. Darn thing caused static in the audio. I deselected the SDI and the audio was clean. Could be a different scenario from you, but worth looking at.
    Best,
    Simon.

    My penance……

    DOH!

    Operator error.

Broke the first rule of troubleshooting by not checking my connections. Breakout box cable somehow became loosened. Seems to have fixed the issue.

As always thanks so much for the quick responses.
