720p 59.94 or 720p 29.97?
I am working on a project that needs to be delivered at 720p 29.97.
We shot footage at 720p 29.97 as well as some offspeed footage (8fps, 4 fps, 12 fps etc) and need to know the proper way to capture this stuff. I was hoping for a 29.97 capture preset but I can’t find one in Final Cut and when I try to make a new preset it doesn’t give me the option to capture in 29.97 in the quicktime video setting input, just 23.98 or 59.94.
It does however give me the option to set the FPS to 29.97 if i choose to.
I have so far been capturing all the footage at 720p 59.94 and working in a 720p 59.94 sequence. Is that the correct way to do it? Or is there a way to capture at 720p 29.97 and work in a 720p 29.97 timeline?
Also, there was some stuff apparently shot at 23.98 accidently but I don’t have any log sheets or any indication of when or what was shot at that frame rate. Is there a way to tell what footage is shot at what frame rate when logging and capturing?
