  How to make cutsie flash?

  I need to make a cute little flash. At present, I’m using one of the three lens flares in AE, and it is fine. But I was wondering if there is a better way to do it? So, if a cartoon character waves her magic wand and changes the toad into a prince or something, what’s a good way to do it? I want something minimal, but maybe something that looks like a four pointed star/flash.

  You could do it as a shape layer that animates up in size and then either fades out or animates down in size. To make it cute and magical, you could add some particles.

  I want something really fast. It’s only 3-5 frames at 25 fps. I can imagine a shape as you describe it. But how would I color it to look like a flash? Is white all I need?
