    Hey all,

am I reaching for the stars in trying to achive the above?

I have a 24P HD tape and I want to capture it into my FCP system as SD at 24P.

IS there a way? I have tried playing around with the KONA settings but, at 24P there doesn’t seem to be a way to downconvert 24P-HD to 24P-SD….

    any ideas..suggestoins…hacks?

If you are using a DVCPro HD or HDCam deck you can use the internal HD to SD output.
Most decks come with a SD – SDI output which has a live SD out at all times.
Then, you can use any of the SD 24P easy setups in FCP and capture through SDI.

If you are using an HDV deck then you should use the component HD out, but switch the
deck’s own menu to do the downconversion (most of them have that feature) and capture via
    component.

    Hope it helps…

    TYPE OF HD 24p?

with HDCam or Varicam – this is a preference in the kona capture settings if your working in driver v3 or later.

with HDV that is a very different question.
