I’m a beginner with After Effects and relying on tutorials to learn the basics. I have not found anything to really help with what I’m trying to accomplish.

Trying to create an effect that looks like bones are shifting or starting to rupture through skin (ie ribs and spine). This is for the start of a werewolf transformation. I thought of using liquify or buldge. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

If you are a beginner, that is going to be tough. Here’s a link to some great free tutorials to get you started with the basics.

Scroll down to number 4, for a good list of free tutorials that really go into depth of what AE can do.

One of those is a link to Video CoPilot. Andrew Kramer has some great tutorials, including these, that might help get you started with your effect.
