525 23.98 to 1080 23.98
So I’ve done a bit of searching about this above workflow on the site and all I can find are ego arguments discussing definitions… seems to happen a lot on here. 😉
but what I cannot get to happen is a propper upconvert out of the Kona3 from 525 23.98 to 1080 23.98- I was told it could do the up/downs if you kept the hertz equal… but this does not seem to be supported. Am I doing something wrong? this was attempted on two different bays and same null result. if you look at the control panel it says it can do it, but if you go back into fcp and move a window to see the control panel in the background you will find the little triangle has dissappeared and lost the ability to upconvert. any insight would be great. thanks,

What are you sourcing your 525 23.98 material from and what easy setup do you have chosen in FCP?

nevermind, JT got back to me…
with aja easy setup for 8 bit to DV… but could be any DV based setup or NTSC the video out will default to 29.97—- so regardless if you found yourself at 525 23.98 the video out has to be manually set for the same-
