  Edit to tape FAILED – with Kona LHe -DSR-40 / DSR-45

  Good Morning.

  I’m finishing a feature film in FCP 5.0.4

  I can’t do a “edit to tape”!
  I have a 720p 23.98 DVCPRO HD sequence a I want to output it to a DVcam 29.97(DECK DSR-45), via aja kona lhe.

  I need to edit to tape with a correct timecode.
  I can remote the tape but i can’t to a edit to tape with a correct timecode..

  I did try the Drag sequence to “edit to tape window” workaround, but it also failed..
  When I drop the sequence into the “assemble” buttom at the edit to tape window, the assemble buttom did not get highlight.. not allowing me to output it correctly.. Nothing happens..

  Please Help.

  My project:
  720p 23.98 DVCPRO HD

  Monitoring via Component 720p 60p

  My Machine:
  Dual 2 Ghz power PC G5
  4.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM
  Aja Kona LHe (control panel driver 2.01)
  FCP 5.0.4

  Not in 5.04.
  do yourself a favor render out a self contained video of the 720p24 content.
  create a new 10bit SD sequence
  drop the Video file in to the SD seq and render it. then playout to tape. it will work much better.

  when you get done with your project – update to FCP 5.1 and the latest kona drivers (3.3) it would have allowed you to do this direct from the timeline.

  the DSR-45 is a player that can record, but it is not an “editing VTR”, so it can’t insert or assemble – just like a Panasonic AJ-HD1200. You need a “bigger” deck, like a DSR-1500, DSR1800, or DSR2000.
