  • Alpha Channel with Aja v210 Codec?

Does Aja’s v210 Codec support an alpha channel? I am trying to render and after effects comp with alpha for an FCP sequence that is 4:2:2 Uncompressed 10 bit. AE shows RGB+Alpha and Millions+ colors, but the resulting QT has no alpha channel. I am new to FCP and the Aja Kona LHe, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is your best bet to render out an animation, millions+, bring that in to FCP and rerender in your 10 bit timeline. Annoying, but it works. Make sure to tell FCP which alpha you are rendering (straight or premultiplied) as FCP can sometimes guess wrong.

Thanks Jeremy. Was hoping to avoid the render, and thought maybe I was doing something wrong with the Aja codec, but I guess the animation codec will work fine if rendering is a must. Thanks again!
