  I have a very basic question regarding our FCP/Kona LHe setup: I

  Nope. When you select firewire, the Kona is essentially “turned off” in FCP. The only way you can monitor is if you use the inputs of the card (SDI, Component, etc.) You will have to monitor your dv deck if you are coming in firewire.

  It makes sense really, all data is coming into the firewire port and not the Kona card. I’m not sure the requirements for handing off that info to the Kona card.
