    System Configration
    -Mac G5 Quad 2.5
    -Apple Xserver Raid 7TB
    -AJA KonaLHe
    -Sony HDW-M2000 2ea

I am doing 1:1 AB Roll editing with 2units of Sony HDW-M2000 which is connected to HD-SDI interface.
And I also wanna use a Kona-LHe NLE System connects the HD-SDI Interface with HDW-M2000.
Sony HDW-M2000 has only one HD-SDI Input. So to do this, I am using the
SELECTOR which receiving two HD-SDI and connecting one Input to HDW-M2000.
The problem is out of sync.
I need your advice how I configure in VCR or NLE SYSTEM.

simple – GENLOCK EVERYTHING to a common black burst generator. Put color black into the REF VIDEO input of your HDW-M2000 VTR, (if there is a switcher there for the AB roll system, it gets the same color black), and put black into the REFERENCE IN on the Kona LHe card, and on the Kona Control Panel, select External Reference in the Control tab.

You will now be in sync.

thank you for your information. I understand what you mean.
Is there another way to solve this problem without sync generator?

    Mr Chinny,

You have a $60,000 Sony HDW-M2000 VTR, and what must be a very expensive FCP system with a G5, a Kona LHe, a large storage array to capture uncompressed HD, an expensive monitor that can display an 1080i HD signal – and you cannot afford $289 for a Horita BSG-50 black generator to resolve your problems ?

    Please explain.

    Dear, Zelin

    Thank you.
You solved my problem. I wasn’t aware of BSG-50. I think it is cheap and good for me….

    Thank you again.
