December 6, 2005 at 4:58 pmWith dreams of Kona2e’s dancing in my head, I just can’t bring myself to get one! If St Nick doesn’t release them after the holidays, I may just have to face reality and get one! Can’t wait to hear what people say though… come on folks….

December 6, 2005 at 5:59 pmI think that more of them might be selling if we had an inkling from apple that the new line of intel Macs might be using PCIe technology.
Right now it feels like this is an intermediate release and that we won’t be seeing the beifits of Quad processing and PCIe until a new version of FCP is released that actually takes advantage of all of the processors.
So many people might be in a holding patern right now.

December 6, 2005 at 6:45 pmi have a lovely LHE card, waiting on an atto 4Gb to arrive, though. everything appears in order, but hard to get things done with just a wimpy internal drive or firewire 800 setup….

December 6, 2005 at 8:17 pmgot a fleet— they are still under testing at my facility and their sata raid brethren— I have not experienced any problems with lhe yet and have begun selling/renting them.
as for the high point’s pci-e… that’s another story, it continually drops our sata raid- that company bumped it’s head.

I don’t think there’s any doubt about this is there?

December 7, 2005 at 3:27 amI have been running the HighPoint PCIe since the Mac driver was released and I have not experienced any dropping of the RAID volume. Will you clarify your setup and the drives your using?
Thanks!

December 7, 2005 at 3:37 amSteve,
I hope so but I don’t know if Apple has officially stated that the INtel based systems will have PCIe bus in them. I am sure this makes sense right now, but I guess we are many months away from seeing FCP on an intel based Mac (the thought gives me a bit of a shiver being a Machead for so long now) 🙂

December 8, 2005 at 9:26 pmHave you been running an external RAID or an internal? Looks like I would have to go from eSATA to internal SATA, do they make a cable like this?
