  J-3 Deck and Kona 2 Problem

  Have a rented J-3 deck to digitize some IMX material for an upcoming project and I’m having trouble getting the system to digitize consistently with the same time code. Using exactly the same timecode in and out points in Log and Capture (FCP 5.0.2) the clips vary anywhere from + or – 3 frames off on 10 tries… only 2 hit it on. Have tried varying offsets to no avail.

  Walter, I know you have a J-3 – any tips?

  Unfortunately no. I’m actually using the J3 this week on a DigiBeta edit and it’s performing as usual. Timecodes are accurate all the way through the 30 tapes we’re capturing from.
