  OT HD10A

  Hi

  Can I use HD10A with sony Z1U@50i to convert to HD-SDI without the need for external sync?
  Also does somebody know how does JVC’s HD100U output 24p (via 3:2 to 60p?) or 25p?
  Will the JVC camera and HD10A converter be usable in PAL countries or is there going to be a bastardized standard (best of my knwoledge there is no 50i or 25p in 720 standard – or am I worng and future converters will include theese formats)?

  I’m not sure, but the good folk at AJA would know for sure about your questions I’d email them or give them a call… From the reports of how long it takes to encode HDV to SD MPEG-2, I’d be prone to not want to work in HDV…. yikes… someone reported a 59 hour encode for a 2 hour show the other day… on a dual G5…

  I have seen HDV 1080i 60 upconverted with that box and results were fantastic…
