I realize extrusion is available on vector graphics, so i googled how to change my PSD file into an AI vector (or so i thought it would be a vector) graphic, brought into AE, no extrusion possible.

Is there any workaround for this??? That is, to extrude a PSD or other type of file?

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

You can extrude text and shape layers.

You can convert Illustrator graphics to shape layers.
