  Infortrend EonStor S24F R1440 Configuration

  Hi All,

  I hope someone has worked with the above ES model or similar as it seems increasingly difficult to find any info on the web and ES documentation.

  Basically our setup is like follows (for a 2 node Windows 2008 R2 failover cluster)

  1 ES R1440 SAN
  2 Brocade silkworm 200E FC (not zoned at the moment)
  3 Two Dell R410 hosts with one HBA each

  All the devices are connected through fiber to brocade. Our goal is to utilize the ES so that it gives maximum redundancy (withstand a controller failure, 3 fiber cable failures considering the 4 channels in R1440).

  So we have created 2 logical drives on ES and assigned them to controllers A and B respectively. Also created a partition and created a LUN to act as the cluster quorum. The LUN is currently mapped to both controllers redundantly using A id’s and B id’s (CH0 A112, CH1 A112, CH0 B113, CH1 B113).

  Now the problem is, the hosts see this LUN as 4 different drives. So we are unable to form the cluster. We installed EonPath ( we are not even sure we need EonPath as there is only 1 HBA on each host and whether EonPath supports our SAN model) on both host but it didn’t help either.

  What are we missing or doing wrong here?
