    Hello All…
I’d like to make some footage of flowing water look black as ink with reflected highlights (as in a Low Key black & white photo) I have no idea if this is possible in After Effects…

    ideas anyone?

Try using a levels or curves effect and take most of the color, but leave the highlights. Here’s a quick example project I did, to show you what I mean.

Thanks for the reply John… I have CS5… can’t open the file you sent. Do you have a CS5 version by chance?

FYI, this was a quick effort on my part, BTW so you would probably want to adjust the masks/effects more than I did…but here’s a CS5 version of the project-just relink to the already downloaded picture and you should be good to go.

BTW, you can download a trial version of CS5.5(and 6 from Adobe’s sight). https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
