I was wondering if I could get some opinions from people about cpu generations…

Does anyone think the LGA 1366 based platform would be inadequate for use of Adobe CC through the early 2020’s as long as it has enough RAM? Older workstation boards I see going as high as 288gb and even for 8k I don’t usually see numbers over 128gb bandied about as all that necessary. A few years ago CC would use all the cores you could throw at it, now it’s seemed to shift back to wanting GPU acceleration. I see modern, obviously more powerful and efficient solutions like Threadripper out talking of realtime 8k editing https://www.4kshooters.net/2017/09/18/16-core-threadripper-8k-video-editing-workstation-for-premiere-pro-cc-and-davinci-resolve/ but DDR4 is just so expensive right now and I don’t do enough really high res work to justify that so i’m curious how long a pair of Nehalem or Westmere Xeons will get me by.

I’m also curious for other video software outside CC if you know offhand but this is what I use most often in my daily work.
